LG returns to the arena of the high-end with its G2 smartphone

It's time for challengers to attempt a breakthrough in the Smartphone market. After Motorola and its Moto X, it is the turn of LG to unveil its new terminal, top of the line this time, which will compete with the S4 from Samsung, the iPhone 5 Apple, the Z Sony Xperia or HTC One.

For LG, the momentum is positive. The South Korean manufacturer reunites with growth in smartphones for several months, thanks to the success of the 4 Google Nexus. In the second quarter, its market share was 5.1% compared to 3.7% a year earlier (figures IDC).

The manufacturer now ranks in third world place, nevertheless still far from Apple (12 million units sold on three months against 31 million for Apple).

It therefore comes to beat the iron while it is hot. It is what makes LG with this new G2, presented Wednesday in New York. The giant is clearly aimed the high end with this terminal as "the most ambitious era of smartphones phone".

 

On the side of design, to differentiate, LG offers as its competitors in the ergonomic "innovations". The side buttons are placed at the back for a better grip. Support extended the central button, which also serves to switch launches the notes or the camera. Not sure this argument is really paying but it seems to be at the centre of the communication of LG...

As to the overall design of the terminal, once again, it is classical to cry...

There is also a mode of automatic release while wearing the respirator to the ear as soon as a call comes in, or even the Plug & Pop function that proposes actions depending on the connected accessories.

Rather interesting, "Guest Mode" to lend the G2 to a guest user by securing its own data. A function that might make sense in business.

Under the hood, the G2 flies at the top of the basket. Hosted by Android 4.2.2 it is equipped with a full screen HD-5.2 inches, a Qualcomm SnapDragon 800 processor 2.26 GHz, 2 GB RAM, 16 or 32 GB of storage and support for 4G.

A "guest" mode that secures your data in the event of loan

The smartphone features a super 3000 mAh battery associated with the Graphic RAM technology that would save 26% of consumption.

The terminal also plays the card of the fineness (8.9 mm) despite the presence of an optical stabilizer associated with a 13 megapixel backlit AFN. On this point, LG may intends to come compete with Nokia Lumia 920 or 1020 who rely on the quality of the pictures.

Technological originality, this smartphone supports audio encoded in 24-bit/192 kHz. Very good news for music lovers.

LG G2 will be launched in Europe in the month of October (perhaps at the same time as the new iPhone) at a price still not release. See also our page
